Leading voices in public health to headline Dallas Founder Lions Club August programs
Welcoming two of Dallas County’s top public health leaders for back-to-back programs focused on impact, access, and community health.
Two nationally respected Dallas County leaders, Dr. Philip Huang and Dr. Frederick Cerise, will speak at back-to-back meetings of the Dallas Founder Lions Club, continuing the club’s mission of service, civic engagement, and community connection in the heart of Dallas.
August is shaping up to be a remarkable month at the Dallas Founder Lions Club, with two powerhouse public health leaders headlining our lunch programs. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to check out one of our meetings, this is it.
On Friday, August 1, we welcome Dr. Philip Huang, Director of Dallas County Health and Human Services. With decades of leadership at the local, state, and federal levels, Dr. Huang has been a key figure in Dallas County’s response to public health challenges from COVID-19 to Mpox and
long-term equity efforts. His insights are not only timely, they’re grounded in experience and impact.

Then on Friday, August 16, we are proud to host Dr.Frederick P. Cerise, MD, President and CEO of Parkland Health, one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. Dr. Cerise brings an
extraordinary depth of experience in health care leadership and public policy,
and leads a system that reaches more than a million patients annually through its hospital, clinics, and outreach programs.
