Dallas Founder Lions spotlight youth and mentoring
This September, the Dallas Founder Lions Club is shining a light on youth and the community resources that help
Earlier this month, we welcomed Chelsea Zeno from Vogel Alcove, who shared the organization’s mission of helping homeless children overcome the trauma of instability through therapeutic education, health services, and family support. Our members also rolled up their sleeves to pack 200 “Bye Bye Bags” snack packs that give kids a little nourishment and comfort to take with them as they leave Vogel each day. It was a unique meeting that combined both service and learning, reflecting the heart of our club.
Now, we continue this focus on youth with our September 19 program featuring Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Dallas. Since 1927, this remarkable organization has been connecting children with caring adult mentors, a simple idea that has transformed countless lives. Hundreds of Dallas kids
are still waiting for a mentor today, and Caprice Hawkins, Director of Recruitment and Program Services, will be joining us to share how these life-changing matches are made, why they matter, and how one role model can spark a ripple effect across families and communities.
This is a perfect meeting to invite a friend or colleague to learn more about the impact of mentoring and the mission of Lions in Dallas.
