Service in Action: Dallas Founder Lions Club Builds 300 Baby Hygiene Kits

The Dallas Founder Lions Club is a service organization committed to showing up. We recently traded our regular meeting agenda for a hands-on logistics challenge, transforming the Culinary Dining Room at El Centro College into an assembly line. Our mission was clear: deliver a significant boost to Hope Supply Co. by building 300 baby hygiene kits for local parents in need.

Partnering with Hope Supply Co.
Since 1996, Hope Supply Co. has served as a critical safety net for the most vulnerable children in North Texas. They meet the critical needs of homeless and at-risk children by providing essentials like diapers, clothing, and hygiene products, including items that are often not covered by government assistance programs.By partnering with them, we ensured our efforts reached families who need these supplies most. A hygiene kit might seem simple, but for a parent in crisis, access to clean washcloths and gentle soap helps ensure their child's dignity and health.

A Multi-Generational Team Effort
The project was a true club-wide victory that bridged generations. During our meeting, a team ranging in age from 22 to 90 worked side by side to turn a mountain of supplies into 300 essential kits. The generosity of our members was overwhelming. Between our custom Amazon registry and direct contributions, the club turned $2,800 in member-funded supplies into a tangible gift for the community.

• 25 volunteers worked the assembly line to make the kits
• 300 hygiene kits were fully assembled and ready for distribution.
• 3 loaded carloads were required to transport the inventory and deliver the final products to the Hope Supply Co. warehouse.
